“Date My Ex”: Ho No! Don’t Go There!

by Victoria on August 1st, 2008

Date My Ex… Note to Bravo Execs: Sorry, I just can’t “feel” this show… not even in a secret pleasure kind of way. I’ve tried. I’ve failed.

I’m disenchanted with the series and its main characters. I’ve accidentally Freudian-slipped Jo’s name as “Ho” -and you know what? That’s not too far from the truth, I’m sure. Plus, in the Spanish language a “J” is pronounced as an “H” sound… so there you go. Ho de la Rosa. Fitting.

For those of you who DO enjoy the show, I admire your strength to continue to tune in. Perhaps you might like this exclusive video clip courtesy of TVguide.com… (I’m going to go get some Purell and maybe find a bag to barf in while I’m at it….):

    Well not being a great fan of reality tv shows…I can safely say this thoughtless shallow show has made me realize there is no bottom to the bottomless pit…so Jo dela rosa or whatever your name is…get a clue…try being poor, try being less than tv pretty, try just being average and having to really work for a living, try not having a tv channel not making a big deal about your love life, try having a physical or mental handicap and trying to have to breakdown all the sterotypes that come along with it…I am not going to be in alot of reality TVs’ target audiences…they wont make a reality show I could star in…but why dont you try getting a damn clue…a clue that your so called life isnt so bad and maybe you could maybe try and make a reality show that might actually help people…if you EVER make a show like that… let me know…I would watch it religiously and would be your number 1 fan…

    @d - You make a VERY serious and poignant statement here… and this might be the reason why I’m really not a big fan of this particular show. You’re right - Jo needs a clue AND a job AND a real life that includes being a CONTRIBUTING member of society.
    Well said, d! ;)

    it’s my pleasure to thank the producers and Jo,Sladefor this empowering experience, and Slade, you have a heart to do that for your Ex-that’s really nice of you, that’s what is called a gentleman, and Jo should give you credit on that,it’s hard to do that. Thanks alot guys and keep the show interesting.

    This show is horrible. She looks like a stuffed sausage. When did she get so fat?

    @maurice - I think you sound like a personal friend of Slade’s…?

    @UKBORN - never thought about her looking like stuffed sausage… but ok! You win! She’s a total “brat”! ;-)

    She bothers me. Her “baby” voice when she deals with men, her shiny face, her TOO PALE make up for her skin tone. I have olive skin and I know better than to go for the frosted lips and eyes. She also needs to bring the hems down a few inches.
    Slade is the ultimate cuckhold.
    Id rather watch a show about the little brit hostess.

    Victoria - Does he have to be a personal friend of Slade to say something nice???? That is not fair. Maybe you just prefer to read unkind things. I am sorry Maurice disappointed you
    - Maurice’s g/f

    @ Cel - I agree… I think the British hostess has some personality that could translate into something a bit more interesting.

    @Maurice’s g/f - The comment just seemed to be very positive for the show -when generically and generally speaking, the following for the series has been dismal at best. I’m glad that there’s a fan of the show! Truly! I do not prefer to read unkind things at all… quite the opposite.

    How about everyone stop knocking the girl’s hustle. Is the show smart? -no. entertaining? -no. educational? -no. is she getting paid and rubbing it in her ex’s face in the mean time? yes. I’d call it a job well done. Yes, she could save her revenge for off camera, but why? Dont watch it if you dont like it, but dont insult her for making money and living her life. She might actually consider this acting… and none of you know anything about her. Save the trashing for someone you really know, not strangers.
