This week on "Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style," Tim and Gretta worked with a young musician, Eliza, who started out in ripped t-shirts (yes, she actually ripped all her t-shirts on purpose), ripped and too-tight jeans, and wacky hats.
While her music career is on the way up, I didn’t feel like Eliza was making the best use of her personal style. She sang a little at the beginning of the episode, and her voice has this wonderful, jazzy tone to it. But her wardrobe looked cheap and trashy.
At this point, it’s hard to choose a favorite on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." DeShawn has such a good heart and is like a little puppy sometimes. I love that. Sheree is a go-getter, but she seems kind of snooty.
NeNe has some self-esteem issues that could benefit from a good therapist. And Kim is way too focused on all the "stuff" in her life, not to mention the misconception that she can have anything she wants. As for Lisa, I love her energy for life. I would probably have to say my favorite housewife at this moment is Lisa. How about you?
BuddyTV scored a great interview with Sheree Whitfield of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." The ex-wife of an NFL star made waves in the premiere episode when she threw a big birthday bash (for herself) and didn’t invite one of the other housewives, NeNe. It wasn’t pretty.
Sheree talked about her experience on the show and things you DIDN’T see. For the full interview on BuddyTV (both text and audio), go here.
This should be really fun, because it’s the 2000th episode of the series (wow!), and to celebrate, James Lipton is switching seats with Chappelle! Yep, Chappelle gets to ask Lipton the tough questions, and I’m sure there will be plenty of tom-foolery going on.
Sounds like Chappelle is getting back into the game. He’s been flying under the radar since he went a little stress-crazy a few years ago and ended up in a mental health facility in South Africa.
He’s pretty darn funny, though, and I’ll look forward to seeing him on "Inside the Actor’s Studio." Hopefully, he’ll let us know what he’s got coming down the pike.
Season 5 of "Top Chef" premieres Nov. 12, 10 pm on Bravo. It looks to be an awesome season, with plenty of drama, cool food, and lots of surprises. Check out the preview videos:
On "Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style" tonight (10/9c), Tim and Gretta work with Eliza, a woman who gets her style from magazines, movies, and music videos, but has never tried to find her own groove. And can they help her stop looking for constant approval from the people around her? In short, she’s clueless, and they give it to her straight! Check out the video clips:
Ok, so "Top Chef New York" is still a week away — it premieres Wed., Nov. 12 at 10/9 on Bravo — but here’s a cool thing to tie us over.
Bravo has just launched a "Top Chef" Restaurant Finder," that includes 250+ recommendations from some 40 Top Chefs and judges. You can search by season (including the current one), chef/judge, or city (dozens, and not only in the US).
But one of the things I mentioned is that she seems to fit easily into both worlds — the world of the rich and famous, and the world of everyday people. Sara can be talking with Prince Albert one minute and consoling her weepy assistant, Tonya Newbould, the next. That’s probably why she’s so good at her job (well, that in addition to just plain loving it).
I also love that, like the rest of us, she lies awake at night worrying about the little details of a trip. She may work with the rich and famous, but Sara Ryan-Duffy is still one of us, harking back to her childhood in Minnesota.
Bravo has added a bunch of new programs (yes, a bunch). Here’s the scoop from a press release I just received:
"Fashionality" (working title) - A weekly one-hour series, featuring four eclectic New Yorkers in media and fashion, who talk about pop culture and fashion via field reports, roundtable debates, and interviews. Sounds like one of those Sunday morning political talk shows, only way more fun.
"Celebrity Sew-Off" (working title) - Celebrities design, cut and stitch their way through a creative competition to determine who will go from icon to fashion star and launch a clothing label (because every celeb wants to do that these days, right?).
Whether its the latest reality show or medical mystery, the newest book, the wildest music or your favorite TV show, we can entertain you. Follow the best the entertainment industry has to offer spoilers, recaps, star sightings and more.
