Project Runway - Finale, Part 1
(Season 5, Episode 13)
It’s getting down to the wire on Project Runway! Before the designers left for home, Heidi explained the challenge: design a wedding dress that reflects their personal aesthetic as well as their lines. Kenley then departed without even saying goodbye to the other designers. If she wins, I’m going to have to have to go out in the woods and do a primal scream or something. Unfortunately, I like her stuff, and so does Tim Gunn.
I loved it when Tim hopped into his Saturn and visited everyone. In Arkansas, Korto was making her collection in a cottage in the woods. She’s inspired by nature, so had this green-and-yellow snakeskin thing going. It’s a little weird to me, but Tim was impressed (but also noted that he didn’t think it belonged in a wedding). I agree. He also mentioned that her work sometimes looks like a vagina! Oh, and she played the drums for him.

In Portland, Leanne was hanging with her cute boyfriend, Nathan. Tim wasn’t wild about the wedding dress, but went for a ride on her bicycle anyway (in his suit and little blue bike helmet). He then met Jerell’s friends and family and "love interest," and as usual, thought his wedding dress was too messy. In Brooklyn, he loved Kenley’s collection, though thought the rope element looked like a noose. Calling Freud!
Back in New York, the designers have a new challenge - create a bridesmaid’s dress to go with the wedding dress. My rundown on the runway:
- Korto: Boring
- Jerell: Messy
- Leanne: Cool
- Kenley: Awesome (argh)
Jerell ended up going home, which is sad, but seemed like the right choice. Thoughts?
