"Project Runway" Knock-Off on the Way?

October 23, 2008 by Jane Boursaw

project-runway-101 Well, well, well!!! This is interesting. I was wandering around Craig’s List — as I am wont to do from time to time — and came across an ad from Bravo TV looking for fashion designers.

So, it sounds like they’re not really banking on the idea that "Project Runway" will stay with them rather than jumping ship to Lifetime (even though legally it seems like a clear-cut case that they should stay with Bravo, but what do I know?).

Anyway, here’s a snippet from the ad: "Do you think you have what it takes to be the world’s next hot fashion designer? We are looking for designers to be part of Bravo’s next fashion design series! We’re currently accepting applications from talented designers where the winner will win a large cash prize. Let Bravo serve as the launching pad to catapult your fashion career into high gear!"

What do you think? And how will they make it different from "Runway"? They’ll have to search far and wide for a respectable Tim Gunn replacement. As for Heidi Klum? Eh, she’s always seemed a little robotic to me. Someone with a little more personality would be a welcome addition.
