Project Runway: Rock n’ Runway - VIDEO

by Jane Boursaw on September 25th, 2008

pr_episode_511_pic_28 (Season 5, Episode 11) This week’s challenge found the contestants designing for each other with a musical twist, thanks to some help and props from guest judge LL Cool J. Here’s how it went down:

Korto designed a punk outfit for Suede. Overlooking the fact that the punk look is usually pretty horrendous, Korto did a pretty good job with this — distressed jeans and a mod, ripped-up top.

Suede designed rock ‘n roll outfit for Jarell. The judges thought Jarell’s normal look was more creative than the look Suede created for him. Suede said he was trying to be creative, but, seriously, it just ended up boring.

More after the jump…

pr_episode_511_pic_20 Jarell designed a pop look for Kenley. With a silvery, meshy, sparkly look to it, this outfit was definitely my favorite. Kenley really rocked it out, too, and looked great.

Kenley designed a hip-hop look for LeAnne. A fitted, high-waisted jean with a floral top and tiny black leather jacket? Doesn’t seem all that hip-hoppish to me, but what do I know? To top it off, Kenley snarked at LeAnne for not selling it. But really, what can you do with an ugly outfit? Kenley also got snippy with the judges, which didn’t help at all. I mean, really? Don’t dis the judge! Especially when it’s Tim Gunn!

LeAnne designed a country look for Korto. Eh, not that geeked about this look, which featured a country star skirt and Dolly Parton top.

Suede and Kenley ended up in the bottom, with Suede getting the boot. Check out what he had to say about it:
