I just got this sad little story sent to me in my e-mail. It’s a post from a message board for survivors of marital infidelity called “Truth About Deception.” A gentleman calling himself “Tim O” is posting about how his wife had two days of hot sexing from NYC Prep’s PC Petersen (that’s him on the left in case you forgot what he looked like). Remember NYC Prep? It was that show over the summer which was supposed to be like Gossip Girl, but instead was scripted and really boring. Unlike GG, which is scripted and ridiculous.

Camille Hughes, the over articulate, Harvard lusting member of the NYC Prep cast has left her all-girl’s prep school to join the Professional Children’s School, a high school for aspiring teen actors. Kind of like the high school in FAME.
You’ll remember that Camille’s school, Nightingale-Bamford (the school that Gossip Girl is actually based on), sent out a mortified missive about Camille’s involvement in a plebeian reality show to their alumni and parent’s mailing list. NYC Prep’s Jessie Leavitt tells the Wall Street Journal this week that she had no idea how obvious her infatuation with PC during filming. She says, “When I first watched the episode I thought people were going to think I was so selfish, and who knew I was in love with my best friend? I mean, I didn’t even know. Sometimes that’s a little weird.” She’s attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in the fall and is planning on continuing her internship with designer Carmen Marc Valvo. Our national nightmare is over; NYC Prep has said its goodbye. It ended, like most teen dramas with not one, but two charity benefits. I remember growing up in New York City and spending all of my time in 5 star restaurants, talking to friends with my sunglasses on, and getting ready for benefits. Oh, the charity benefits. The time has come for NYC Prep to ride its chaffeured car into the sunset. Tonight, like any good reality show set in NYC, our final scene is at Jessie’s Operation Smile benefit. But, first PC confronts his charity case Taylor on why she didn’t attend his loft party in last week’s episode. Cole, her ex-boyfriend, did go, and Taylor insists she didn’t know he was going. Yesterday’s NYC Prep has put the nail in the coffin for me, the show is so incredibly staged and depressing that it’s almost unbearable. From watching the strange Harvard tour guide (why were they the only people on the tour? and why were they just at the entrance and not on the rest of campus?) to the forced conversation between Camille and Sebastian at the Pulse Art Fair, the show is a mess, no matter how many expensive coats and scarves you cover the kids in.
