“Shear Genius” Coming Back To Bravo in February 2010
December 3, 2009 by Maria Diaz
Here’s another one of Bravo’s little shows that could: Shear Genius, which is where the divine Tabatha Coffey emerged from, is coming back to Bravo for its THIRD season Wednesday February 3, 2010.
Unfortunately, actress Jaclyn Smith will not return to host, instead making her “hosting debut” will be “international model and handbag designer” (if I had a nickel for everyone of those I’d ever read about..) Camila Alves will be reading the cue cards. What’s far more interesting about Camila is that she is the girlfriend to actor Matthew McConaughey. Juicy! Stylist and Chris Crocker stand-in Kim Vo returns as …read more
Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Returning To Bravo Tuesday, November 3
September 11, 2009 by Maria Diaz
Yay, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover is coming back! It’s been quite a while since I’d heard anything about the show’s second season, so I was so thrilled to get an official date for the return of the baddest bitch around, Tabatha Coffey. If you’ve never watched the show, it’s actually quite entertaining to watch Tabatha whip lazy and bad hairdressers into shape. It’s a lot like Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (a favorite of mine) without the yelling and rotting food.
Bravo also released the names of the salons Tabatha visited. Do any of you get your hair done at these places?

Keep “Tabs” on Takeovers
September 6, 2008 by Victoria
One thing that I like that BravoTv.com added to its site, is Tabatha Coffey’s blog. Not only does she comment on her show, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, but you get a personal insight as well as a behind-the-scenes look at what was going on during taping.
There’s also some great styling tips from Hair Majesty that are work checking out.
Quite honestly, I appreciate her blunt and professional style -even if she throws in a few F-bombs here and there. Tell ‘em like it is! This show is one of my fave’s on Bravo right now… You?

August 25, 2008 by Victoria
Tonight at 10pm, it’s the final episode of Shear Genius 2 on Bravo! It’s down to the final 3 stylists — Charlie, Dee and Nicole… Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, but will the rookie beat out the veterans? Or is it experience that matters in the end?
In this preview video, the three remaining stylists talk with Allure’s editor-in-chief to make sure they put their best cut forward:
Kim Vo is Britney’s Stylist for the VMA’s
August 23, 2008 by Victoria
Over at E!, it has recently been reported that Shear Genius‘ chatty stylist, Kim Vo, has told a certain someone who then mentioned it to so-and-so that he’s none other than Britney Spears‘ stylist for the upcoming Video Music Awards. Vo reportedly told “E! News exclusively that he just may be creating three VMA looks for the “E-mail My Heart” singer.”
THREE looks? That has to insinuate something -and Vo spilled the beans! He mentioned that one is for the red carpet, another for the actual show -and a final look for her performance. Did you hear me? Britney is to …read more
Tabatha’s Salon Takeover: “I Hate Crying”
Tabatha Coffey is a strong woman with an assertive attitude. (That does not classify her as being anything other than strong and assertive, mind you!) But her new series “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover” on Bravo hit the ground running with a great deal of whining, crying and dramatic moments… NONE of which had anything to do with Tabatha’s emotions.
How to Fix Fly-Away Hair
August 21, 2008 by Victoria
While waiting for tonight’s premiere of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover (10e/9c) on Bravo tonight, I started checking out some of the tons of video clips about my favorite shows.
I am not immune to bad hair days -or just bad hair period. It’s just part of the aging process for me. I try to keep the fly-aways under control. Seriously. If I don’t, I look like I’ve been sitting in front of a fan all day.
Tabatha Coffey has a great idea that I think I’ll try out today, just to see if there’s any hope for the hopeless. Let me know if …read more
Daniel is Just NOT Avant-Garde: ‘Shear Genius’ Loses a Little Joy
August 21, 2008 by Victoria
Oh my, oh my, oh my.
I’m in total denial right now after viewing the latest Shear Genius. I just loved Daniel and his spunky cattiness. He will be sorely missed. [sniff, sniff]
What is really difficult is that he’s being pretty nice in this video clip -except towards the end… we see a bit of the Daniel we know and love. [grabs more tissues and tries to hold it all together]

August 18, 2008 by Victoria
As if styling one person’s hair for a challenge isn’t enough, this week on Shear Genius, (episode 209) the stylists have to show their creativity and stamina while seeing double!
The remaining four stylists get a big surprise during the short cut challenge when they find out their client isn’t who they think it is – it’s their identical twin!
