“Top Chef”Voltaggio Brothers Launch New Web Show

I know a few of you had some crushes on Bryan and Top Chef 6 winner Michael Voltaggio , so here’s a little good news for you: the brothers are launching a weekly web series! The shows will be produced by EQAL, a web series production company that also hosts shows by Paula Deen and Alicia Silverstone. They’re also the folks behind lonelygirl15 if you can remember those tender first years of YouTube.
Here’s a trailer for the show, launching in 2010.  On their blog, Bryan posts that the show will air weekly and will focus on  their ” favorite ingredients, …read more

BravoFan Holiday Gift Guide: For The “Top Chef” Fanatic

It’s time for another holiday gift guide! If you’re on the East Coast you’re surely not leaving your house this weekend as we get swallowed in the BIGGEST STORM EVER ZOMG!!, so forget going to the mall and shop online in your pajamas instead. If you’re in California, I hate you.
Again, I do make a little tiny bit if you buy using the Amazon links in this post, so be aware of that. I’m just a Real Blogger making it in the world, trying to make enough money to afford a pair of Vikki Lynn Gunvalson jeans.
This time, we’re going …read more

“Top Chef” Reunites, Brings Up Tired Old Fights

“Top Chef” Reunites, Brings Up Tired Old Fights

Before all of television hibernates with Christmas movies and re-runs next week, it’s time to put the final nail in the sixth season of Top Chef’s coffin. That’s right: it’s time for the reunion. Naturally, it’s time for Andy Cohen to drag out all the tired old fights, specifically Robin versus everyone else in the house. I had already forgotten Robin existed. The highlight: Gail Simmons’s look of complete embarrassment right at the beginning of clip.

Top Chef: All The Hungry Ladies

Let’s squeeze a little more out of Top Chef before it packs its knives and goes away for a few months. My friend Tess Lynch is in this cute Funny or Die video displaying how eliminations would go if we lived in a world with justice. Tess plays judge Gail Simmons versus Ashley Merriman, Mattin and Bryan Voltaggio.

The One Where People Quietly Cheered [Top Chef Season 6 Winner]

The One Where People Quietly Cheered [Top Chef Season 6 Winner]

So, it turns out I’m not very good at gambling. That’s why I mostly stick to eating, drinking frozen martinis and collecting prostitute calling cards when I go to Las Vegas. Those are activities I’m good at. Guessing things? I’m not very good at that. Anyway, now that even people in Alaska have seen Top Chef, it’s safe to say that it’s not longer a spoilage issue and that Michael Voltaggio was the winner of a gigantic box of plastic containers from the Glad family of products. It turns out that fake spoiler
from a few months ago was totally wrong, …read more

I Want To Know Your Feelings on “Chef Academy” and “Launch My Line”

These shows, where did they come from!? I keep forgetting to post about them.
How about you? Are you forgetting to write about them on your secret blogs you are keeping from me? Chef Academy premiered a few weeks ago, and nary a peep from any of my usual suspects. It looks like the most interesting thing about the show is that one of its participants, Emanuel Del Cour, was actually a porn star named Jean Val Jean and is, (kiddies cover your eyes) per reality blurred, the “the premier straight porn practitioner of analingus on female co-stars.” That tidbit …read more

Top Chef Season 5 DVD and Top Chef Quickfire Cookbook Giveaway

With the holidays coming up, it’s important to have many recipes in your arsenal. You never know when your company holiday party will magically turn into a “potluck” or when you are faced with the prospect of going to a relative’s house who can’t cook their way out of a paper bag. Thankfully, Bravo TV has these needs in mind and they’ve created a new site with former Top Chef contestant Brian Malarkey (Real Housewives of Orange County fans may also remember him from the “Naked Wasted” episode) to teach you some recipes that may not kill you. They’re calling …read more

Sourpuss Finally Packs Her Knives And Goes On Top Chef

Sourpuss Finally Packs Her Knives And Goes On Top Chef

I always knew Jen Carroll was not going to make it to the final three on this season’s Top Chef, Eric Ripert mentor-ship and all. She started cracking under the pressure in the middle of the season and always looked like she was about to burst into flames after being picked second. Like all tests, whether or not you win is not just a measure of how good you are at the task, but how good you are at competing. And Jen just lost her mojo and was never able to quite get it back. She actually looked relieved to …read more
