Tamra Barney Selling Her Home In A Short Sale

Count Tamra Barney as the latest housewife to be hit by the housing crisis: she’s put up her Ladera Ranch home up for sale again, this time in a short sale. A short sale is when the bank has to take less than the amount of money that was borrowed. It’s typically the last stop before the house goes into foreclosure.
Tamra tells the OC Register that she and her husband Simon have already lost $600,000 on the house and want to stop losing money. Interestingly enough, while Tamra is not the listing agent this time, Barrington Properties (who she just started working for in an attempt to revamp her real estate career) is handling the sale. The house’s current price is $1.149 million.
Since the show is currently filming, hopefully the producers will get a shot of actual reality and show what the Barneys are actually going through at this time instead of constantly showing Tamra getting expensive gifts.

She is such a hateful person that I am glad karma is finally biting her in her fat, leathery ass. I feel so bad for her kids having such a horrible mother.
I now realize that Bravo MAKES these folks look like they have more money than they actually do. A real wealthy person probably wouldn’t have the time or desire to even do a show like this. Wannabe rich people like the Barneys are exactly the people who desperately want to be on this show. It’s obvious now that the Barneys are broke phoneys, who only portray that they have money, yet are barely hanging on. Tequila anyone? LOL
This just made my day! And not because I want to see any honest, good person lose their home. But, I don’t mind seeing a lying, sleazy, cheesy couple like the Tamra and Simon Barney lose their home they NEVER could afford to begin with.
The Barneys really do embody EVERYTHING that went wrong with our County in the last 10 years. They were living a lie, a sham, and a fraud there in Fraudera Ranch. Neither of them have college educations, they were just a realtor and a car salesman who pretended they were something more. And what is worse, is that they failed to use their brief stay in fake affluence to further their childrens lives as they failed to get their 20 year old to even begin college.
Tamra Barney is going out lying and cheating and leasing her way through life, even as her home heads towards foreclosure. In her Blog on Bravo TV’s website Tamra insists that SImon’s career is doing just fine, but apparently not fine enough to simply make the mortgage payment for his family.
The Barneys are Leased Losers. And losers who deserve what they have coming. HA! Now, if you will excuse me I am taking a long weekend from my established career that I actually worked to achieve and I am going to go to lunch in the Orange Circle and shop for a funky chair for my den. And I will pay cash for it.
I have to wonder to what degree being on the show makes these people put themselves in financially uncomfortable situations. Granted, they get a lot of free swag, but they feel compelled to live a rich life publicly, some of which they must pay for.
And how do you lose $600,000 on a house unless you’ve borrowed against it? There’s no doubt that times are tough, but they’re certainly tougher if you are financially irresponsible.
They’re in over their heads. Welcome to the real reality of so many Americans.
I think it will be great to see them “downgrade” or “cut the fat out” or whatever they’ll call it.
That’s what everybody’s having to do. I’m not too worried about them. At least they still have jobs on the show. And free schwag.
The Tamra Barney Foreclosure pool actually showed a link to their 40 year mortgage (who gets a 40 year mortgage???). They are WAY more in the hole than $600,000…..they kept borrowing and borrowing against the house.
The truth is the never had money to begin, they have faked it from day one. Most of the Bravo viewers have more money than them, LOL!
It’s interesting because the Barney Foreclosure pool was split, half thought by July they would forclose, the other half predicted December. So I guess the July folks won.
I do think it is a disgrace the way they so selfishly borrowed for themselves and never gave those kids future a thought. No college funds there……it’s all about them and their cheesy fake jewelry and leased cars that are being repoed probably right now.
I feel bad for their kids having redneck idiots for parents.
I hope they do focus on the reality a little bit more, watching the past season, and seeing all the gifts and the over the top, over-doing of everything, actually made me feel a bit sick to my stomach in this kind of economy.. I knew they were setting themselves up for tough times and a fall… they need to scale back ALOT…
I wonder if she is selling her gifts, the non important stuff should go, sometimes you need to start from scratch!
Angel – I stopped watching all of these Housewives show when Jill blew $14,000 on an ugly bag. How many deserving people could have been helped by that money? I have no more interest in any of these ladies.
I think that this show was meant to portray to us, how it would be to have tons of money. You’re right Becky, it’s all so frivolous and unnecessary, however, I can’t stop watching. LOL This last OC season focused way too much on the bitchiness/cattiness of Tamra and Vicki, and thus the show was not as fun as the previous seasons.
I think that after the drama-riffic Atlanta season, Bravo just wanted more emphasis on fights. If you watch some of the online-only clips of RHOC season 4, they filmed a lot more fun stuff than we saw. Hope the show goes back to its roots next season, although I seriously doubt that..
I am not surprised in the least, the Barneys always acted completely classless and tacky…..you just knew they never had money to begin with.
I bet their neighbors are relieved they will be moving out of the neighborhood, can you imagine having jerks like that living near you?
I guess she and her creepy son will have to have their “naked wasted” parties in their trailer, LOL!

It is common knowledge that the Barney’s never had money and never could afford their house…..the are wannabes and now they are about to be foreclosed on for being total idiots.
All along Tamra’s life has been a mess but she always kept trying to point the finger at Gretchen so people didn’t see her for the faker she really is. Her marriage is a joke, her life is a joke…..her whole life is one big lie after another.
Not a good mom either, gets wasted in front of her kids all the time and acts like ho in front of them. She is the biggest mess for sure.

I guess the 10 cent millionaires don’t have enough money to pay their mortgage. Bravo started this program to show women who “have it all” and since Tamara probably can’t afford a roll of toilet paper without charging it I’d like to see her replaced. I can’t stand the witch but it gives me great pleasure to see Karma come and bite her in the arse. She’ll have an excuse, she’s incapable of just admitting she and Simon are financially irresponsible.
I wonder if Bravo will rent a home for Tamara and Simon? Maybe fat Vicky will lease the second home she purchased to Tamara and her family since Frankie is no longer her tenant.
With a short sale they won’t be purchasing in the near future, banks are leary of people like the Barney’s who don’t pay their mortgage. Why buy an expensive home if you have to finance it for 40 years? That alone says they never had money. Tamara and Simon had better hope that Bravo doesn’t drop them, they’ll be homeless!

Abgie, when anyone files a lis pendens, mechanics lien or judgement it’s public record and anyone can look it up. The only way to keep information out of the courthouse is to pay your bills which is apparently something the Barney’s aren’t doing.

Beachy, I know that one. There is no cosmetics line by Tamra, period. Dr. Ambe has a cosmetics line but nowhere on his website does he even mention Tamra’s name…..another big fat lie from Tamra.
She talked about the lip gloss being one of her favorites and lied by saying she helped develop it but according to Dr. Ambe’s website Tamra is not involved or named at all on any products.

Thanks Janet, I had read about Ryan’s license being suspended, being on probation for three years from Kiss My Tiara on Bravo. She posted the link a week or so ago and his list of traffic violations was quite extensive. It makes sense that he couldn’t get a job with the police department.
About as close Ryan will get to being a police officer is probably as a security guard, maybe his employer will give him a badge and a moped so he’ll feel like he’s got some authority. LOL

All I have to say is the woman is a bitch. Her and Vicki. Tamra is getting exactly what she deserves! And the only reason Vicki can take trips and stay in her home is because she works 15-18 hrs a day and neglects her poor husband! Thats setting a real good example for her daughter! Honestly, i think Tamra looks wonderful and this is from someone who couldn’t stand watching her on the show last year. I feel horrible for her and the family, it’s got to be hell for the younger kids. She’s got my sympathy.
