Tamra Barney’s Car Trouble & Lynne Curtin’s Other Eviction

Another day, another story of financial woes from our Real Housewives. This time, it’s Tamra Barney’s husband Simon Barney, who is being sued by American First Credit Union for over $24,000 on his 1989 Ferrari.
Next up is more details from Lynne Curtin, who made TMZ last week when her landlord served her with an eviction notice. The OC Register has now learned that this would be the second home the Curtins have been evicted from; the other is the empty Capistrano Beach apartment that we saw on season 4 of Real Housewives of Orange County. As for the current eviction from their Laguna Beach house, the documents for that particular case are sealed.
[Edit: A peek at the Orange County courts website reveals that the Barneys have settled their collections case with the credit union a few weeks ago. ]

When are the Barney deadbeats going to learn to pay their bills? I hope American First Credit Union reposesses the car on camera for Bravo go air, I’d pay to see that!!! If their home doesn’t sell soon the bank will post their foreclosure….

So – if I get this right – Lynne was evicted from the house we saw on RHOC in May. And now in Augusut, she is being evicted from this Laguna Beach house? Which makes 2 evictions in 3 months?????
An FB friend who is friends with Tamra posted a link to this on the friend’s wall. Apparently Tamra commented and said that this was taken care of. And honestly, I don’t think Tamra is concerned with Gretchen right now. She hasn’t said anything on her publicly in quite some time.
Sad to say, Lynne won’t be able to rent a cardboard box with two evictions unless she puts up some serious cash as a security deposit.
A little birdie told me that Tamra’s house is sold.
Everything Tamra says is always a lie, first she was selling the house to “build a custom home”, we all know what a joke that was.
She thinks if she says things are taken care of that people will believe her but she is a compluslive liar at this point.
Oh and she did talk about Gretchen when she was on the today show, her obsession and jealousy with that woman never ends.
If she had just gotten off her fat ass and got a job like real people she might not be in this mess. I agree with a pp, karma is a biotch.
Just when we thought the Barneys couldn’t get any dumber….there should be laws against people this stupid having children. Her creepy son is just a dumb and low class as she is.

Tamra shouldn’t ever have been concerned with Gretchen, the aging hag should have been more concerned about paying her bills so her credit wasn’t ruined and getting that uneducated parasite she gave birth to in school. If the house sold in a short sale Tamra and Simon probably aren’t off the hook if they sold the home for less than they owed, the bank can still file a judgement against them.
I’ll believe the Barney house is sold when it’s recorded at the court house.
It looks like the house may have been sold: the listing now says it went “off the market.”

You do not know this woman’s full story, only what is shown on television. So to say she had it coming and shouldn’t have been so worried about Gretchen is a bit short sighted on your part. You only know the person that is shown on tv. I would never wish my worst enemy to have a home foreclosed on, a car repoed, or a job loss. Sad people, real sad.

Why would American First Credit Union single the Barney’s out if they didn’t OWE for the vehicle? Do you think they were picking on the Barney’s?
As for how Tamra’s story goes, what is shown on tv is what Bravo chooses for their viewers to see yet they’re Tamra’s own words (as someone else stated), what is in ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER OF DEEDS and related COURT DOCUMENTS is usually quite accurate. I didn’t say Tamra “had it coming” – those are YOUR words but if she and little Simon didn’t pay their bills they certainly knew what to expect. Creditors should be paid, I don’t care who you are or in Tamra’s case who she **think** she is. Other people have to pay their bills, she’s not exempt.
Want to tell us when the skincare line Tamra claims she is developing is due to hit stores? She was excited about it but hasn’t mentioned. It seems like she’d be talking it up, is that a lie?
What happened to the yacht Simon was buying with his business partner two years ago? Was that a lie or just an untruth?
What about the new “custom home in Covenant Hills? When are the Barney’s expected to break ground? So far there is no deed at the Orange County Register of Deeds? Could that be another lie?
Can you explain how the Barney’s lost $600,000.00 if they didn’t have $600,000.00 in equity or improvements??? That sounds like the biggest lie of all……
Beachy you hit the nail on the head….the overwhelming list of lies that Tamra has told is proof enough to me. That and the fact that what mother tells her 2 year old baby to “shut up”????.
She faked and lied the entire time to get on the show which shows MAJOR lack of integrity in my book. This is a woman who obviously does not value her kids enough to even think about a college fund but rather borrow to the max to get a rolex they could never afford and had to return.

Beachy- I don’t know these people personally. I can not answer the questions you pose. I am not defending Tamra’s actions. RHJunkie, I see you’re trying to bring a voice of reason to this thread. I’m surprised no one has accused you of being Tamra yet.
I find the judgement railed at the Barneys to be hilarious in how it’s never-ending. They settled their collections suit and are attempting to sell their house rather than let it get foreclosed on (or get evicted twice in a few months a la the Curtins. Even Saint Jeana admitted to not paying the mortgage on her multiple houses in order to get loan modifications and no one is vilifying her for not paying her bills). Orange County has a TON of foreclosures, the Barneys are hardly alone in living beyond their means.
Anyway, am I going to have to do a Chris Crocker video here? LEAVE TAMRA ALONE! I kid, I kid!
Wow, Maria what kool-aid have you been drinking? The Barneys are about to go into foreclosure. I do not think most people take out 40 year mortgages and then continue to borrow more and more against the house, that is pretty rare.
We all saw firsthand how self absorbed they were in their spending. There are plenty of people in foreclosure due to real problems like sky high medical bills, etc. Those are the people that deserve compassion, not morons like the Barneys that drive our economy into the ground even further since the taxpayers end up paying what they knew they would never have to pay.
Where exactly is there proof that they have paid back any of their debts? Please provide that link, would love to see it. I have seen nothing on that and it is public info.
And the curtins were actually smart to rent, at least the taxpayers don’t have to pay for their greed. But they were nice, decent people so that is probably why no one hates them, same with Jeana….she is a good person.

If you go to the OC courts website and search for the barney civil case, you’ll see that the case was settled. I don’t have “compassion” for the Barney’s financial situation, I’m just saying that most of these ladies appear to be victims of pretending to be something they’re not. I know everyone hates Tamra, but to single her out when the majority of the housewives are in the same situation is just silly.

Tamra and Simon Barney need to downgrade. Move to a cheaper neighborhood even if it means moving out of the oc, stop buying rolexs and ferrari’s and start college education funds for your children. they just don’t have their priorities together. At least Vicki Gunvalson and Jeana Keough had her kids in college. Tamra should of had Ryan the loser in community college at the very least. Her children’s futures should of been more important than living a lifestyle she clearly could not afford.

Instead of buying Rolex watches,jewelry, plastic surgery,etc., Tamra should have been behaving more responsibly as an adult. She should set a better example for Ryan. She complains about him, however she and Simon are guilty of the same careless behavior. Simon should have saved their money before it was too late. This is what happens when you try to keep up with the neighborhood. Did these two ever hear the expression “less is best?” Less is definitely best in their situation. Tamra should pawn all her trinkets, as this point.
Lynn should get her act together. Get out of the gym and get yourself and your daughters a real job. Lynn’s priorities are those of a teenager. She needs to prepare her daughters for a future. Doesn’t she realize that looks aren’t going to help a person. Nosejobs, boob jobs, etc. are a dime a dozen. After you put your future together, then you can indulge in these luxuries. Whether or not her daughter had a bump on her nose wasn’t as important as the real issues. Lynn probably is too immature to face her real problems.

I must say I cannot STAND Vicki. She is SO ugly. And Vickie claims that Brianna was in a nursing program that took SEVEN years to become a nurse (BSN), but that Brianna did it in three years. What nursing program takes SEVEN years? None that I know of. Another exaggeration of Vicki’s.

PLUS I never had the debt to begin with because, I never lived beyond my means..so when everything tanked I was able to stay afloat.
