Taylor Jacobson Leaves Rachel Zoe, Inc.
November 8, 2009 by Maria Diaz
It’s finally happened, after a whole season on The Rachel Zoe Project where her main motivating force was how much she despised working there, Taylor Jacobson of the Sunglass-Wearing Jacobsons, has left the fur-covered bosom of Rachel Zoe.
In an email obtained by Fashionista.Com, Taylor says her departure was voluntary.
“After four amazing years at Rachel Zoe Corporation, I’m saddened and exhilarated at the same time to announce my departure. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to take the challenging leap to go off and style on my own.”
I wonder if Taylor will take any celebrity clients with her? Who will do all the work while Rachel and Brad Goreski are gossiping? Rachel hasn’t said anything publicly on Taylor’s departure, not even on her frequently used Twitter account.

It baffles me why Taylor says she is going to continuing styling; on her own (with probably little start up investment money) she doesn’t think she will have to attend parties? Have to suck up to clients? have to bag dresses?
As someone who has been self-employed for many years, when you are your own boss, you DO more of the grunt work then ever!
Taylor was unhappy and should have come clean with Rachel BEFORE Rachel saw it all aired on Bravo. My personal guess? Rachels’ hubby asked Taylor to find other employment. JMO and only my gut speaking.
I bet you’re right! Rog didn’t like the footage and now that he’s in charge, she’s outta.
Hope she can find another job where you can wear sunglasses all day. I bet she can. Why didn’t I go to Fashionista University. Oh wait, I tried, but I was, like, an entire person over the maximum weight limit….
@Nancy – Rog strikes me as one of those quiet, protective types and now he’s in charge of managing Rachel’s image…
JMO but despite what Taylor says, I don’t think she will continue as a stylist. Although she has the talent, she doesn’t have the heart. She’s obviously burned out and doesn’t give a care about the client (and it’s all about sucking up to rich clients and knowing how to *manage* them).
Becky, that’s totally it! And not just the clients, either — So much of what Rachel appeared to do was kiss designer ass to get in their good graces. I think she even said it herself in an on-camera interview re: Diane Von Fosterberg, about how they “scratch each other’s backs.” Taylor doesn’t have it in her. Brad on the other hand, loves the schmoozing and lifestyle, so he is much better suited for it.
