Tom Colicchio’s Favorite Top Chef Contestant Was Tiffani
April 20, 2009 by Maria Diaz
Yum Sugar posted a great interview with Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio today. He was in San Francisco promoting his new sandwich cook book,‘wichcraft: Craft a sandwich into a meal–and a meal into a sandwich. He reveals that his favorite sandwich memory involves Kraft Singles and that his favorite contestant ever was Season One’s feisty redhead Tiffani Faison. “She was really poorly portrayed. Her personality was not portrayed well at all. She’s a great cook., ” he says.
He also reveals his most shocking moment n the show’s history. What else but the head shaving incident of Season 2. If you forgot, let me refresh your memory: right towards the end of the season, two cheftestants, Ilan (who went on to win) and Elia shaved their heads. They then attempted to get shave fellow castmate Marcel’s head having another chef, Cliff, physically remove him from his bed. Bravo producers were not amused and the next day, Cliff was asked to leave. This lovely incident was probably the reason there was no Top Chef Season 2 reunion. [Yum Sugar]

I always really liked Tiffani and thought she got a bad rap too.
Poor Tiffany, the big problem was Harold. He was great and deserved to win the competition.
